What kind of Tsar Kyrill Romanov would be?

"just now I noticed that he has a lazy eye like his son"

So, between all the romanov claimants after the execution of Nicholas II branch (and they were MANY), Kyrill had the strongest claim. setting his own branch who still claims the throne under Maria Vladimirovna. He was the grandson of Tsar Alexander II and cousin of Nicholas II.

That being said, he was a pain on the back of Nicholas II since the Tsar opposed his marriage and exiled him to France, were he would stay until being pardoned in 1910. Back to russia he would continue being troublesome, raising a red flag on the capital during the fall of the empire and swearing loyalty to the republicans of the provisional government.

Assuming that the whites win the civil war, and either a monarchist warlord comes on top and restore him, or he's chosen as a compromise candidate being a puppet of the military, but as the decades passe he reestabilish control on a sham democracy similar to what Carol II did in Romania, how would his government be like?

Small fix: Kyrill Vladimirovich was Alexander II's grandson and Alexander III's nephew.

I think that he would had be quiet much ceremonial head of state having only few of power. There is not way back to absolutism. But rest of Russia bit depends what kind of government it has. Altough probably it is quiet much right-wing if not Russian branch of fascism.

And due defeat of Communism there probably is not Nazi Germany. It is then another thing what Russia is going to do. But at least human right conditions are better without Stalin's monstrous atrocities. Russai would too industrialise much slower altough it army would be in better condition thanks of not purging best of generals and no political officers.

I have seen data showing that Stalin might have slowed out the industrialization of russia, due it's massive bureaucracy, cronyism and inneficiency, so a imperial russia might maybe be as industrialized as the USSR in 1935, who knows?

About his personal tendencies, what do you believe he would do in power? Would he try to regain power or accept to be a de facto puppet? Also was he a liberal or a conservative? Could he support some alternate timeline russian fascist group to attempt to regain his power?

Cyrill probably is enforced to be puppet/ceremonial head of state. No one want anymore some old tsarist system.

Not sure what he would support exactly. Altough it bit seems that he could had supported any government which just was favorable for monarchy. Perhaps even fascists are OK.

He wouldn't have had much of a chance of staying in power for long. After the moronity that was the reign of Nicholas II, he would have either been a figurehead, or deposed really quickly. I'm not certain he would have even wanted to have ruled.

And how the world would see him? This is not kaiserreich where he rules for a year, this is having him in power from 1920 until his death in 1938 (or even later if his higher status allows him a better healthcare system), did he had the skill to make his new position work, or he would be constantly trying to take power by himself, allying with some far right generals like mikhail dieterichs, maybe planning coups that cannot work? Or even a playboy Kyrill, who doesn't rule but instead spend his time in balls and on parties?

The world would probably like him for keeping the peace, but it wouldn't be too far of an effect.

The Russian economy prior to ww1 was growing on average of 3,5% per year. If that is maintained and there is no civil war then the Russian industry and economy is much larger than what the USSR had. However if Russia is fascist then that would be lower than a non fascist Russia but perhaps still higher than the USSR.

Would make an interesting ATL if Kyrill were to get together with and be influenced by this man:

This is only possible if a different left wing group wins in Russia, because the empire IS a conservative institution, be autocratic or not

Maybe we could have some SR faction taking over the republic, that turns into left wing nationalism and later invites Kazembek who restores the monarchy
